Note: It is believed that in the large building currently addressed from 831 to 845 many of the businesses in the early years had been combined and made into the current larger spaces. It is difficult to know exactly which businesses from years ago were in which current spaces. Some of the businesses were operated from the back side of the building so two businesses might have the same address during the same years.

1930 In July, L. C. Laun and George Haberman of Friend built a miniature golf course on lots belonging to Newell Butler, Putt-Putt Golf.

1931 By October, the Putt-Putt Golf disassembled and the lumber sold.

1937 Harry Crandall built a new building for a blacksmith shop and moved here from 133 North 9th, where he had been for 26 years.

1938 Frank Kamler purchased lots between South Side Cafe and Crandall’s blacksmith shop and built a building to house his Allis-Chalmers tractor business.

1950 Bert Bishop purchased Harry Crandall’s blacksmith shop.

1955 The Kamler Implement Co.—Frank & Gerald Kamler--purchased the Bishop blacksmithing business. Virgil Clinkenbeard bought the Bishop building and moved it to 1016 F Street and used it for his blacksmith business. The Kamler’s extended their building to the west, filling in the “L” and putting a new roof over the entire area, giving them a 72’ front. They sold Allis-Chalmers tractors.

1959 Jerry Kamler was a Pontiac (GMC) dealer. He also had Allis-Chalmers parts and service.

1973 The Turner Body Shop was located here.

1974-77 Buzz Sole moved Buzz’s Alignment to F Street.

1976 Geneva Gard-N-Yard, Dallas Fowler, had lawn mower sales and repair here.

1976 Herman Brothers Transfer was housed in the rear of this building.

1977 Buzz Sole moved his alignment shop to 124 No. 8^th Street.

1979 Dee’s Sewing Shop, Dee and Dallas Fowler, sold sewing materials and supplies and also sewing machine repair.

1992 Blue Valley Mental Health Center. This business was located in the rear of the building, address 831 F Street, Suite E.

1996 Alcoholic Anonymous was housed at 837 ½ F Street.
