They had no children, but raised her nephew, Frank Crawford.
In 1856, she moved with her parents to DeWitt, IA
In 1876, she moved with her husband to a farm southwest of Geneva.
Her husband was struck by lightning and killed on July 2, 1882.
Mary and her nephew moved to Geneva.
In 1887, Mary and her nephew ran a grocery.
In 1892, Mary opened a millinery shop at 145 So. 10th.
In 1906, the shop was destroyed by fire.
