Paul Freeman Shaner


  • Born on August 27, 1901 on a farm north of Lushton, NE to Steward and Milla May Warren Shaner.

  • Died on September 24, 1982 in Geneva, NE

  • Married to Bula Eileen White in York on April 16, 1932.

  • Parents to one son: James

  • During his youth, he moved with his family to the communities of Shickley, Overton, and Geneva.

  • At age 16, he helped lay the brick paving on main street (G Street) in Geneva.

  • He received mechanic’s training in the Havelock shops in Lincoln.

  • Before the Depression, he had planned to go into aviation because he flew and owned his own plane.

  • When Shaner Chevrolet was in business, Paul was the mechanic and the “wrecker man.”

  • Paul was a member of the Evangelical Free Church.
