In 1887, moved here from Seward with his wife, Minnie, and opened a hardware store at 8th and G.
In 1891, built a large home at 331 North 11th.
In 1892, he moved his hardware and harness store to 890 G Street.
In 1893, the business failed and creditors took control of the hardware store.
In 1894-95, Mrs. Minnie Burke opened a hardware store at 131 North 9th.
In 1895, the Burkes moved to Des Moines, Iowa.
