Died on Aug. 21, 1955 in Lincoln, NE (Buried in the Geneva cemetery.)
Married to Rosalie Chaney on Oct. 21, 1896 in Sidney, IA
Parents of six daughters and three sons: Leta, Dazel, Minnie Murle, Rose, John, Paul, Marion, Helen, and Frank.
Migrated to America with his family as in infant, first going to Galesburg, IL
Moved with his family to a farm in Chelsea township when he was nine.
After marriage, he remained on the farm until 1905.
Moved to Geneva when he became Fillmore County Clerk.
In 1908, he sold agricultural implements and Buicks at 151 So. 10th.
In 1913, he had a garage at 179 So. 10th. Over the years sold Fords and Studebaakers.
In 1916, he moved his dealership to 818 G Street. Also part of the deal was the purchase of the Brayton House at 331 No. 11th.
In 1920, he sold his implement business to Frank Hafer.
From 1917-20, he had a repair shop at 120 So. 8th.
From 1918-22, he had a garage at 142 So. 8th.
From 1923-37, he had Peterson Oil at 137 So.10th.
From 1937-44, he had Peterson Oil at 187 So. 10th.
Member of the Congregational Church, board of trustees when the new church was built.
Member of Masons and Scottish Rite
Served on city council and school board.
