Came to Geneva in 1902 as an employee of the telephone company.
In 1903, he was employed as trouble man for the Fillmore County Telephone Co.
In 1907, he moved his family to University Place to work for Frank Harbican in the electric light plant.
In 1908, fell thirty feet from an electric light pole, breaking both legs.
Later that year, he purchased Sheldon’s newsstand at 130 No. 9th and the family returned to Geneva.
Moved the newsstand to 924 G Street in 1911.
Moved to 918 G Street in 1916.
Was a bonded taxi and made regular trips to Fairmont each evening to meet the No. 3 Burlington train.
Had a pet pigeon.
Moved the business to 972 G Street in 1941.
In 1958, he celebrated being in business continuously for 50 years since purchasing the newsstand.
Member of the Chamber of Commerce, the Congregational Church and the Masonic Lodge.
He was the oldest dealer for the Lincoln Journal, first to obtain an Eastman Kodak company franchise and first to sell Hallmark greeting cards in Geneva.
