  • Died on February 14, 1925 in Geneva, NE.

  • Married to Catharine Van Slyke on February 16, 1866 in Branch County, MI.

  • Parents of four children: Millie, William, Linnie, and Glen.

  • Enlisted in Company I of the 42nd Illinois Infantry on August 14, 1861.

  • Was discharged in 1866.

  • Moved to Fillmore County, homesteading in Geneva township northwest of Geneva.

  • Ran a livery and feed barn in Fairmont.

  • Was elected sheriff and served two terms.

  • Moved to Geneva and served in the mercantile business.

  • In 1889, Carson and Son Restaurant was at 936 G.

  • In 1890, Shickley and Carson ran a grocery at 942 G.

  • In 1894, Carson bought out Shickley.

  • In 1895, Carson moved his grocery to 954 G.

  • In 1897, Carson was assisted by son Will.

  • In 1901, Carson had general stock at 966 G.

  • In 1906, Carson sold his stock to Baroch.

  • Had the nickname "Kit." Supposedly a relative of the famous scout, Kit Carson.
