Ran a livery in Milligan
Ran a restaurant in Exeter, which he sold to Thompson and Carr of Burress after he was elected sheriff.
Elected to county sheriff in 1899 and again in 1901.
In 1904, bought a restaurant at 818 G.
In 1906, opened a short order cafe at 858 G, ran an ice cream manufacturing business at 129 No. 10th, and another restaurant at 954 G.
In 1907, he sold his interest in the bakery at 858 G.
In 1909, he opened a music store at 924 G.
In 1912, he had ice cream manufacturing at 124 No. 10th and 127 No. 10th, and ice delivery at 162 So. 8th.
In 1912, he had a lease on the Jewell Theater at 824 G.
In 1915, he organized the Meridian Auto Polo Co.
In 1916, he moved his family to Kearney where he ran a bakery, confectionery, and cafe.
In 1920, they moved to Fairfield, NE.
In 1924, they moved to Exeter, where they bought lots east of Ryan’s residence to build a filling station.
M. W. and son Leo ran the filling station for the last 23 years.
