Born on March 6, 1839 in Harrison County, Kentucky.
Died April 10, 1910 in Spokane, Washington. Buried in Geneva, Nebraska.
Married to Lydia Rankin on April 16, 1874.
Parents to nine children--Rose, Edwin, Ben, Grace, Gun, Frank, Walter, Laura and Ruth.
In 1882, they moved to Lincoln, and the following year to Geneva.
In 1883, Ben purchased 872 G with the intention of building a doctor's office.
In 1883, Ben purchased the building at 874/878 G with his brothers George and Will. They installed shelving and counters and stocked a full line of dry goods and groceries.
He practiced medicine for twenty-seven years in Geneva.
