City Halls
1879 The first meeting of a village board was July 25 at the courthouse.
1879 Monthly meetings were held at the office of W. V. Fifield.
1900 Plans for a city hall were drawn up, but it was not built until 1915.
1915 A brick building was built on North 9th Street that housed the fire department (150 No. 9th), the city hall (160 No. 9th), and the auditorium (162 No. 9th).
1973 After a new fire hall was built, the old fire hall at 150 No. 9th was remodeled. The city council, city clerk, and city administrator moved into that office.
1993 The City Clerkâs office was moved into new offices at 167 So. 10th.
