City Halls

1879 The first meeting of a village board was July 25 at the courthouse.

1879 Monthly meetings were held at the office of W. V. Fifield.

1900 Plans for a city hall were drawn up, but it was not built until 1915.

1915 A brick building was built on North 9^th Street that housed the fire department (150 No. 9^th), the city hall (160 No. 9^th), and the auditorium (162 No. 9^th).

1973 After a new fire hall was built, the old fire hall at 150 No. 9^th was remodeled. The city council, city clerk, and city administrator moved into that office.

1993 The City Clerk’s office was moved into new offices at 167 So. 10^th.
