3/18 - 4/9: Vectors: Lines and Planes

Friday, 3/15 - we learned about vector equations of lines. Here are the slides from class. Here are the notes from class, including your HW, which is #1-4 on the final page. This material won't be on the quiz happening on Monday.

Monday, 3/18 - you have a quiz on everything we've worked with so far with vectors.

Tuesday, 3/19 - we found the angle between vector lines. Here are the slides from class. Here is the worksheet for HW.

Wednesday, 3/20 - we used vector equations of lines in 3D. Here are the slides form class. Here are the notes from class along with your HW problems.

Thursday, 3/21 - you have a field trip to the Tenement Museum.

Friday, 3/22 - we solved a variety of vector line problems in context. Here are the slides from class. Here is the worksheet of problems from class, including your HW, which is p. 667 (Ex. 14.4) #12 and p. 426 (Ch. 9 Practice Questions) #8.

Monday, 3/25 - we investigated how 2 vector lines, particularly in 3D, can interact with each other. Here are the slides from class and here is the worksheet of notes from class that includes your HW, #1defg.

Tuesday, 3/26 - we practiced with IB HL style vector line problems. Here are the problems from class. Good luck on your SATs tomorrow!

Wednesday, 3/27 - it's city-wide SAT day. Good luck!

Thursday, 3/28 - we worked in groups to solve some tough problems involving vector lines of objects and object collision.

Friday, 3/29 - we investigated another type of multiplication with vectors, called the vector product (or "cross product"). Here are the slides from class and here are the notes from class.

Monday, 4/1 - we practiced applying the cross product to a variety of problems. Here are the slides from class. Here is your HW, which is p. 650 (Ex. 14.3) #11-13, 17, 18, 23, 28.

Tuesday, 4/2 - we defined planes in 3D with vectors and particularly normal vectors. Here are the slides from class. Here are the notes from class including your HW, which is p. 686 (Ex. 14.5) #1, 3, 5, 6, 8, 9, 12, 15.

Wednesday, 4/3 - we found angles in space - specifically, angles formed by intersecting planes and angles formed when a line intersects a plane. Here are the slides from class. Here are the notes from class, including your HW, p. 686 (Ex. 14.5) #17-22.

Thursday, 4/4 - we found the intersection point of lines and planes. Here are the slides from class. Here are the problems we worked on in class practicing this idea and other ideas with planes. Your HW is to finish the worksheet you got in class and practice whichever problems you think will be the best practice for you.

Friday, 4/5 - we found the equation of the line that makes up the intersection of two planes. Here are the slides from class. Here is the worksheet from class. Your HW is p. 686 (Ex. 14.5) #27-29, 31-32.

Monday, 4/8 and Tuesday, 4/9 - we solved long vectors problems in our groups for a group practice quiz. Here are practice problems and solutions to help you prepare for your exam, which will focus on vectors used in lines and planes.

Wednesday, 4/10 - you have an exam on using vectors in lines and in planes and the cross product.
