Tuesday, 1/30 - Thursday, 2/15: Antidifferentiation

Post date: Jan 22, 2018 7:53:45 PM

We are learning the second half of calculus now, called integral calculus.

Tuesday, 1/30 - we learned about the process of antidifferentiation. Here are the slides from class. Your HW is Exercise 14.1 #1-6.

Wednesday, 1/31 - we continued to practice finding antiderivatives, now of many types of common functions. Here are the slides from class. Your HW is Exercise 14.1 #7-10, 12, 16-19. Here are the formulae for calculus (derivatives and integrals) from your formula book.

Thursday, 2/1 - we practiced finding antiderivatives. Here are the slides from class. Here is the worksheet form class, on which your HW is on the back (try two letters from each number).

Friday, 2/2 - we learned to find antiderivatves of functions that came from the chain rule. Here are the slides from class. Here is the worksheet for HW, the front #21-29 odd.

Monday, 2/5 - we continued practicing finding antiderivatives of functions that came from the chain rule using the method of substitution. Here are the slides from class. Here is the worksheet for HW, the front #22-30 even.

Tuesday, 2/6 - we approximated areas under curves with lots of rectangles. Here are the slides from class. Here is the guided worksheet from class. Your HW is to log on to ManageBac and read your comments if you have not done so already, and to either work on your Exploration or redo a HW from a previous night.

Wednesday, 2/7 - we learned the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus and learned how to evaluate definite integrals. Here are the slides from class. Your HW is p. 476 (Ex. 14.2) #1-9 odd (check on GDC).

Thursday, 2/8 - we worked with definite integrals and continued to practice the substitution method. Here are the slides from class. Your HW is p. 476 (Ex. 14.2) #12-20 even (check on GDC) which you actually can't find in your edition of the textbook, so use my link. Here are the answers to the HW (I think they're mostly correct).

Friday, 2/9 - we learned about some key properties of definite integrals. Here are the properties and the problems we worked on in class. Your HW is to work on your Math Exploration over the weekend.

Monday, 2/12 - we interpreted definite integrals as representing areas. Here are the slides from class.

Tuesday, 2/13 - we practiced finding and writing down definite and indefinite integrals. Here are the practice problems including full worked solutions from class.

Wednesday, 2/14 - we have a group practice quiz.

Thursday, 2/15 - we have a quiz on all the integration topics we've learned so far.

We'll continue working on integration and what we can apply integrals to after our Mid-Winter Recess. Reminder that your Math Exploration is due at 11:59PM on Friday, March 2nd.

Have a nice break!
