Essential (Seminar) Questions:
1) How have astronomical, geological, and biological factors impacted the evolution of species from Australopithicus to homo sapiens? To what extent has one of these categories been more important than the others?
2) “Altruism and kindness run counter to Darwin’s theory of evolution.” To what extent do you believe this statement to be true?

For HW:
- Your Little Big History annotated bibliographies are due on Wednesday, July 31st.
- We will have a closed book exam on Monday. The prompt will be "In what ways did biological, astronomical, and geological factors allow Homo sapiens to emerge and survive?"
- Read and annotate "Collective Learning: Using Language to Share and Build Knowledge".
- Read and annotate Stokes-Brown, Big History, Chapter 4 (p. 57-71)
- Read and annotate Christian, Maps of Time, Chapter 7 (p. 185-190)
