Monday, 11/26 - Wednesday, 11/28 - Mr. Lao is absent and away at Princeton Blairstown Center with Class IV discipuli. You will be learning about The Binomial Theorem while he's gone. Here is the packet that Mr. Lao gave to you. Each day is labeled. You can do each lesson individually or you can do it with your group. HW is described in the packet.

Friday, 11/30 - we have a half day of school for Discipulus Led Conferences and Public Declamation and we didn't have math class.

Monday, 12/3 - we continued to do practice problems involving the Binomial Theorem. Here are the slides from class. Your HW is Ch. 4 Practice Questions (p. 200) #20, 28.

Tuesday, 12/4 - we are introduced to the process of proof by the principle of mathematical induction as a way of proof in math. In particular, we used induction to prove statements about summations of terms. Here are the notes from class detailing the process of mathematical induction. Here are the slides from class. Your HW is p. 199 (Ex. 4.7) #12.

Wednesday, 12/5 - we used induction to prove the explicit formulae of special sequences. Here are the slides from class. Your HW is p. 199 (Ex. 4.7) #2, 3, 4.

Thursday, 12/6 - we used induction to prove special statements about divisibility. Here are the slides from class. Your HW is p. 199 (Ex. 4.7) #14, 15, 18.

Friday, 12/7 - we practiced using the process of proof by mathematical induction. Here are the slides from class. Your HW is p. 199 (Ex. 4.7) #16, 20a.

Monday, 12/10 - we practiced using the Binomial Theorem and proof by the principle of Mathematical Induction. Here are the practice problems from class, including all of the worked solutions to all these problems (it was too much to print and copy so Mr. Lao only gave you the problems).

Friday, 12/14 - we have our exam on using the Binomial Theorem and proof by the principle of Mathematical Induction.
