Thursday, 10/5 - Wednesday, 10/25: Vector Equations of Lines

Post date: Oct 4, 2017 4:48:04 PM

Now that we know what vectors are and how to work with vectors, we'll see how vectors can be combined together to describe straight path lines.

Thursday, 10/5 - we were introduced to the idea of using vectors to describe the points along a straight line. Here are the slides from class. Here is the worksheet from class, which includes the problems for HW, which are #1-4 on the last two pages.

Friday, 10/6 - we practiced using and interpreting vector equations of lines, specifically making sure we understood our homework from the previous night. Here are the problems from class. You have a mind map due on Tuesday after the long weekend. The other part of your HW is to tell one person you care about one specific way that you appreciate them.

Monday, 10/9 - No school for Columbus Day and Indigenous Peoples' Day.

Tuesday, 10/10 - we found the angle between two vector lines. Here are the slides from class. Here are your HW problems.

Wednesday, 10/11 - you had senior workshops.

Thursday, 10/12 - we worked with vector equations of lines in 3D. They work the same as in 2D! Here are the slides from class. Here is the worksheet of notes from class, including your HW on the last page.

Friday, 10/13 - we worked on contextualized problems involving vector equations of lines. Here are the slides from class. Here is the worksheet from class which includes your HW problems. Your HW is p. 410 (Ex. 12.3) #12 and p. 272 (Ch. 8 Practice Questions) #8.

Monday, 10/16 and Tuesday, 10/17 - we discussed how lines in 3D space can be parallel, coincident, intersecting, or skew. Here the slides from class. Here is the worksheet from class, which includes your HW (Worksheet 1-20 #1defg on the back) which is due on Wednesday. Your HW is to also, by 5PM on Monday 10/23, go to this Google Form and submit your idea for your topic for your Math Exploration: goo.gl/6tqMPY

Wednesday, 10/18 - we tried a more difficult problem involving vectors and lines. Here is the problem from class, which includes the schedule to complete the Expo problems for HW. Here are the Expo problems we will be using - we will split into groups starting Thursday. Your HW due tomorrow, Thursday, are the Expo problems #10 and #13. Your HW due for Friday, 10/20 are the Expo problems #15 and #18. Your HW due Monday, 10/23 are Expo problems #29 and #30.

Thursday, 10/19 - Tuesday, 10/24 - we are preparing our Expo presentations on Thursday and Friday and then presenting on Monday and Tuesday. Here are the slides from class which includes your Expo groups. Reminder to also, by 5PM on Monday 10/23, go to this Google Form and submit your idea for your topic for your Math Exploration: goo.gl/6tqMPY. Your HW due for Friday, 10/20 are the Expo problems #15 and #18. Your HW due Monday, 10/23 are Expo problems #29 and #30. Finally, to help you study for your exam, here are some extra practice problems, focused on vector equations of lines. Remember that one of the Expo problems will be on the exam.

Wednesdsay, 10/25 - you have your concluding Exam on Vectors and Vector Lines.
