We are starting our unit on differential calculus.

Friday, 10/21 - we tried to find the instantaneous speed of someone running at an exact moment in time. Here are the slides from class. Your HW is to submit a topic for your Math Exploration.

Due Tuesday, 10/25 by 7PM is also your topic submission for your Internal Assessment. Pick a topic you're going to be interested in writing!

Here is the link to submit your topic - please answer all questions: goo.gl/BUCV98.

Monday, 10/24 - we summarized our work with finding Ms. Yang's exact speed by looking at secant lines and tangent lines. Here are the slides from class. Your HW is this worksheet, the exercises at the end.

Tuesday, 10/25 - we defined the derivative and saw how to find it's expression from what's called "first principles" which uses a mathematical idea called a limit. Here are the slides from class. Your HW is Exercise 11.2 (p. 387) #1, 2, 4.

Wednesday, 10/26 - we reviewed your HW from last night.

Thursday, 10/27 - we discovered the power rule for derivatives and applied it to find derivatives very quickly. Here are the slides from class. Your HW is Exercise 11.2 (p. 387) #1, 2, 4.

Friday, 10/28 - we did practice problems to build our foundation with finding the derivative with first principles and with the power rule. Here are the slides from class. Here is the worksheet of practice problems. Your HW is Exercise 11.2 (p. 387) #14-17.
