3/10 - 3/19: Recurrence Relations

We're studying our last topic of Number Theory, which is studying recurrence relations.

Tues, 3/10 - we used the principle of strong mathematical induction to help us prove special statements about sequences. Here are the slides from class and here is our worksheet detailing the strong induction process.

Wed, 3/11 - Thurs, 3/12 - we extended our knowledge of congruences into quadratic territory, giving us good review with our skills with quadratics, especially factoring, completing the square, and using the discriminant. Here is the guided worksheet we used in class to help us notice and wonder about quadratic congruences (solutions at the end).

Fri, 3/13 - we were introduced to what recurrence relations are and we proved the general formulae for some using strong induction. Here are the slides from class and here are your practice problems, including the solution to the first one.
