Monday, 11/13 - Tuesday, 11/28: Introduction to Graph Theory

Post date: Nov 13, 2017 3:15:35 PM

We are starting a new topic: graph theory. Specifically, we're getting acquainted with all the ways we can represent graphs and describe graphs.

Monday, 11/13 - we were introduced to some problems we'll encounter later with graph theory. Here are the slides from class. Your HW is to work on your Math Exploration. You also have these vocabulary graphic organizers which will be checked on Wednesday, 11/22, at which time you'll also have a vocabulary quiz. We'll spend all of class tomorrow working on these graphic organizers.

Tuesday, 11/14 - we worked on learning new vocabulary words in graph theory. Here once again are the graphic organizers for our vocabulary words. Here are the slides from class. These will be checked for completion on Wednesday, 11/22, at which time you'll also have a vocabulary quiz. Your HW is to work on your Math Exploration.

Wednesday, 11/15 - we learned how to represent graphs with an adjacency table and what adjacency tables tell us. Here are the slides from class. Here is the worksheet that follows the lesson from class. Your HW is to work on your Math Exploration.

Thursday, 11/16 - we explored five fundamental results and special graphs in Graph Theory. We split up the work and thought about one of the results and then came together to summarize. Here are the slides from class. Here is the worksheet that follows class. Your HW is in your new textbook: p. 84 (Ex. 6C) #5, 6a & p. 85 (Ex. 6D) #1a, 2a, 5-6

Friday, 11/17 - we explored different ways to take journeys on graphs. Here are the slides from class. Here is the worksheet from class. Your HW is to work on your Math Exploration.

Monday, 11/20 - we studied Eulerian graphs and semi-Eulerian graphs, as well as the criteria that need to be in place to make these graphs have these properties. Here are the slides from class. Here is the worksheet that follows class. If you were absent from class or want a quick review, here is a 5-minute video summarizing our lesson from today: https://goo.gl/dG74CK Your HW is Ex. 2C.2, which is all of the last page of your packet.

Tuesday, 11/21 - we studied planar graphs and their properties. Here are the slides from class. Here is the worksheet from class. Your HW is to make sure your vocabulary graphic organizers are complete and to study for your vocabulary quiz tomorrow.

Wednesday, 11/22 - you have a vocabulary quiz on Graph Theory words. We also studied Hamiltonian graphs and their properties. Here are the slides from class. Here is the worksheet from class.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Monday, 11/27 & Tuesday, 11/28 - you have a group quiz on the Graph Theory concepts we've learned so far.
