Monday, 12/18 - Friday, 12/22: Special Derivatives

Post date: Dec 18, 2017 12:09:16 AM

We're wrapping up December by learning about derivatives of special functions - namely, sine, cosine, the exponential function, and logarithmic functions.

Monday, 12/18 - we discovered the derivatives of sine and cosine. Here are the slides from class. Your HW is Exercise 13.1 #1a, 1e, 2a, 3. An almost-complete draft of your Math Exploration is due at 11:59 PM on Friday, 12/22 unless you've made personal arrangements with Mr. Lao.

Tuesday, 12/19 - we practiced using the derivatives of sine and cosine, in particular using the chain rule. Here are the slides from class. Your HW is Exercise 13.2 #1,d,h, #2c, #4b, 9. An almost-complete draft of your Math Exploration is due at 11:59 PM on Friday, 12/22 unless you've made personal arrangements with Mr. Lao.

Wednesday, 12/20 - we continued to practice with the derivatives of sine and cosine. Here are the slides from class. Your HW is Exercise 13.5 #7, 16, 21. An almost-complete draft of your Math Exploration is due at 11:59 PM on Friday, 12/22 unless you've made personal arrangements with Mr. Lao.

Thursday, 12/21 - we used the derivatives of exponential and logarithmic functions. Here are the slides from class. An almost-complete draft of your Math Exploration is due at 11:59 PM on Friday, 12/22 unless you've made personal arrangements with Mr. Lao.

Friday, 12/22 - we practiced using the derivatives of exponential and logarithmic functions, particularly with the chain rule. Here are the slides from class. Your HW is to sleep, eat, and do something nice for yourself and for someone else. An almost-complete draft of your Math Exploration is due at 11:59 PM on Friday, 12/22 unless you've made personal arrangements with Mr. Lao.
