10/31 - 11/12: Sequences and Series

Wednesday, 10/31 and Thursday, 11/1 - we learned about and practiced problems with sequences and series. Here are the problems from class. Here are the slides from class. Your HW, due Friday, is Ex. 4.2 (p. 157) #21-25 and Ex. 4.3 (p. 163) #38-44.

Friday, 11/2 - we added finitely many terms of arithmetic and geometric sequences, called using series. Here are the slides from class. Here are the problems from class. Here is your HW, which is Ex. 4.4 (p. 172) #13, 16-18, 31-34 & Ex. 3.3 (p. 125) #40. My apologies for the typo in the answer key. The answer to #13 is that we need to add 30 terms of the sequence to exceed 2335 (you should have gotten n > 29.08 when you solved the quadratic inequality and ask yourself whether to round down to 29 or up to 30).

Monday, 11/5 - we explored infinite geometric series. Here are the slides from class. Here is your HW, which is Ex. 4.4 (p. 172) #4, 6, 24, 28, 29.

Tuesday, 11/6 - No students in school for Chancellor's Conference Day on Election Day

Wednesday, 11/7 - we did mixed practice problems. Here are the problems from class.

Thursday, 11/8 - you have a group practice quiz on sequences and series.

Friday, 11/9 - we did more mixed practice problems. Here are the problems from class.

Monday, 11/12 - No school for Veterans' Day.
