We continued our study of applications of statistics and looked at linear regression. We'll have a quiz on correlation, scatterplots, r values, and regression lines on Wednesday, 10/28.
Tuesday, 10/20 - We'll have a quiz on everything about the normal curve. Topics on the quiz include calculating probabilities/percentages on the normal curve, using our GDCs to find those percentages, and using our GDC for the inverse normal function to find quantiles. Z-scores are extra, and will not be on the quiz. We also introduced the idea of correlation. Here are the slides from class. No HW tonight.
Wednesday, 10/21 - We looked at how to measure correlation with r values and how to draw scatterplots and get r values on our GDC. Here are the slides from class. Your HW is p. 363 (Ex. 13.1) #1, 5, 6, 11, 12, 21abc.
Thursday, 10/22 - we continued using our GDC to make scatterplots and trendlines and also learned about interpolation and extrapolation. Here are the slides from class. No HW tonight.
Friday, 10/23 - We did practice problems with finding regression lines on our GDC. Here are the problems from class. No HW for the weekend.
Monday, 10/26 - We practiced finding scatterplots and trendlines by hand. Here is the sheet from class that also includes your HW for tonight.
Tuesday, 10/27 - we did practice problems with linear regression problems. No HW except to study for your quiz.
Wednesday, 10/28 - we have a quiz on on correlation, scatterplots, r values, and regression lines.
