Term 3 begins. I hope you all had a restful long weekend.
You got back your IAs today and you will fill out an item analysis template next week.
We started to prepare for Expos that review items from the IA. Here are the slides from class that include the directions and forecast for the week in IB SL Math.
Here are the instructions for the review of Term 2 IA Expos. As a reminder, here is the TBLS Math Expo Rubric.
- Use the given format in your written solution. You will be presenting with a document camera, just as last time, so alter your presentation accordingly.
- Please find a new problem (or make one up) and have the class solve it when it is your turn to present.
- Please use this template and fill in your problem and your new problem and send it to me by Thursday, 1/31/13 by 8AM so that I can make packet of notes for each of you.
Here is the Item Analysis Template for the Term 2 IA: we will be doing more work with this next week.
Your HW is to do a review set based around functions. We will soon continue our work with trigonometric functions, so it will be useful if you review things we can do with functions. The review set is due Tuesday, 2/5/13 in class. The review set is page 75, #1-5 and #8-13.
Forecast for the coming days:
- Tuesday 1/29/13 - Wednesday 1/30/13: Get IAs back and prep in new groups for Expos.
- Thursday 1/31/13 - Monday 2/4/13: Present Expos.
- Monday 2/4/13 - Wednesday 2/6/13: Mr. Lao away from class
- Tuesday 2/5/13: Complete IA Analysis Template and start IA Reflections/Corrections. Finish for HW. Functions review set due in class this day.
- Wednesday 2/6/13: Begin graphing trigonometric functions: sine graph. IA Reflections/Corrections due in class this day. HW: problems on graphing sine.
- Thursday 2/7/13: Mr. Lao returns and we continue graphing trigonometric functions. HW on problems on graphing sine due in class this day.
