Greetings, juniors! Mr. Lao is out these three days on the Class IV Boston Trip as a chaperone.

You will have a sub these three days: be good, be productive, and I'll miss you guys.

Classwork on Monday:

  • Ms. Yang will finish the Expo presentations. Be ready to present your Expos if you haven't done so already. As a reminder, here is the TBLS Math Expo rubric. Ms. Yang will collect the review set on this day (see below).

Classwork on Tuesday:

  • You will be working on your Term 2 IAs. All materials can be found in your table's folder, found in the R7 basket on the table at the side of my room. In your table's folder, you will find some directions, your IA, an IA Item Analysis Template, and a stapled packet for IA Reflections.
  • You should first read over the directions. Then, fill out your IA Item Analysis Template. Based off of that template, complete 4 IA reflections. Start them in class and finish them for HW. Use your Expo Notes packet to help you.
  • You are under no circumstances allowed to take home your IA. Please remember this and prep accordingly for when you finish for HW.
  • Term 2 IA Reflections as well as Expo Notes will be collected in class on Wednesday.

Classwork on Wednesday:

  • The sub will collect your Term 2 IA Reflections today as well as your Expo Notes packet.
  • You will be working on graphing sine and cosine. Your classwork explores the sine and cosine as the functions they are and their graphs. Your HW explores transformations of these functions. The sub will pass out a packet to you that will serve as classwork and as homework.

Homework:

  • Review set about functions: Page 75, #1-5 and #8-13 (due Monday, February 4, 2013 in class: Ms. Yang will collect your work)
  • Term 2 IA Reflections/Corrections (due in class on Wednesday, February 6, 2013: the sub will collect your work)
  • The sub will also collect your Expo Notes packet on Wednesday.
  • Trigonometric Functions: transformations of sine and cosine. You will be looking at the graphs of sine and cosine on Wednesday: finish the packet for HW: I will check it on Thursday when I return.

I'll be back on Thursday, February 7, 2013. Be good, be productive, and I'll see you soon.
