Today we practiced using compound interest and continuous growth/decay.

Here are the marked slides from class.

We are having a math mini-seminar in class on Monday and Tuesday. It will focus on small groups tackling a real-life problem that's in the news now. We can use our knowledge of exponential growth and decay to gain insight into the death of Yassar Arafat.

Your HW for the weekend is to read and annotate this recent article from CNN.

You are then to complete this mini-seminar preparation sheet that looks for variables and defines them.

You will be assessed in the format outlined in this document: 50 points for preparation and 50 points for group work collaboration on Monday and Tuesday. If you do not have the prep for Monday, you will not be allowed to participate in the mini-seminar.

Group work on Monday and Tuesday will be assessed via the TBLS Math Collaboration Rubric.

Happy December!
