Tuesday 3/6 - Thursday, 3/15: Probability

Post date: Mar 6, 2018 3:46:15 PM

We're learning to find simple probabilities and probabilities of combined events. Each day we study probability, you'll have an exit ticket quiz grade designed to assess if you paid attention during that day's lesson.

Here is the packet of probability notes for the week.

Tuesday, 3/6 - we learned about simple probabilities and how to represent probabilities in various diagrams. We learned some simple new notation as well, including "union" and "intersection" and "complement". No HW tonight.

Wednesday, 3/7 - we learned to represent probabilities in Venn diagrams and learned how to find probabilities of simple combined events. Your HW is Big Textbook, p. 548 (Ex. 12.4) #1-6, 16 (reprinted for you on p. 7 of your packet).

Thursday, 3/8 - we learned about distinguishing between independent and dependent events. Your HW is on page 11 of your probability notes packet.

Friday, 3/9 - is a half day of school and only R2 had math class. we reviewed some of the more difficult HW questions we've seen in the past few days.

Monday, 3/12 - we learned about conditional probability. Your HW is page 14 of your probability packet, with solutions on page 15.

Tuesday, 3/13 - we learned about Bayes' Theorem, which is an extended application of conditional probability. Your HW is pages 18 and 19 of your probability packet.

Wednesday, 3/14 - we did IB Math HL style probability problems for practice.

Thursday, 3/15 - you had a group quiz on probability.
