This week you'll have your Interim Assessments for Term 1.
Monday, 11/9 - we solved inequalities by graphing them on our GDC. Here are the slides from class.
Tuesday, 11/10 - Latin & History IAs
Wednesday, 11/11 - No School, Veteran's Day
Thursday, 11/12 - Biology & English IAs
Friday, 11/3 - Elective & Math IAs
Here are the topics for our Term 1 Interim Assessment:
Term 1 IA Topics:
- functions (domain, range)
- composition of functions
- inverse functions (finding algebraically, graphically, domain/range, verifying with composition)
- graphing functions on the GDC (zoom, window, intersections, values, table, zeroes, intercepts, asymptotes)
- function transformations
- quadratics (factoring, completing the square, general form, vertex form, factored form, quadratic formula, axis of symmetry, vertex, roots, interpreting the discriminant, sum and product of roots)
- polynomials (synthetic substitution (optional), end behavior, division, synthetic division (optional))
- polynomial theorems (remainder theorem, factor theorem, conjugate root theorem, fundamental theorem of algebra, sum and product of roots theorem)
- systems of equations (two equations and two unknowns or three equations and three unknowns, also solving systems on GDC and interpreting if there is a solution or not or if there are an infinite number of solutions or just one or none).
- solving equations (involving linear terms, radicals, quadratics, fractions, absolute value, quadratic forms, also solving on GDC)
- solving inequalities (involving quadratics, fractions, absolute value, also solving on GDC)
Here are some resources to help you review and study:
- Any past homework assignment
- The end of chapter practice questions are a good source of more practice questions (p. 85 for Chapter 2, p. 149 for Chapter 3)
- Past exams and quizzes (like your Unit 1 exam on functions)
- Summary of quadratics
- Summary of polynomials
