We continued our unit on functions and equations today. We reviewed composition of functions and got a start into looking at how function composition changes function properties.
Here are the marked slides from class.
Your first HW to be on a HW Quiz is Page 40 #1-9, 18, 20 and Page 45 #2.
As well, three final drafts of problem solving are due by email on Monday, September 30 at 8AM.
For Problem Solving:
There are several documents for this unit that will be helpful to us:
- The introduction and rationale for this unit.
- The flowchart explaining the process to which we will adhere.
- The problem solving rubric by which your problem write ups will be assessed.
- The calendar of important dates, and problems for this chapter, hints included.
As well, most of you received the problems you did from Chapter 1.
- Here again is a description of the assignment.
- Worked out solutions to the classwork.
- Worked out solutions to the homework.
- Worked out solutions to the HL optional problems.
Important reminders:
- Mon. 9/30, 8AM: final drafts for three problems due by email.
- Word documents may include pictures of diagrams. Make sure you still describe the process.
- Write up: four sections (PLAN, ATTACK, CHECK, REFLECT) based on the flowchart and the rubric (see links to documents above).
- If you make a CONJECTURE, make sure you try to PROVE or EXPLAIN that CONJECTURE.
- Jupiter Grades account: I share an account with Ms. Yang, so don't be alarmed one day if you log in and see her name instead of mine. Email me if you have any problems.
