Tuesday, 3/8 - Friday, 3/18

This week, we're wrapping our study of function behavior. We'll have a quiz on how functions behave (increasing, decreasing, local max/min, global max/min, stationary points, horizontal point of inflection, sign diagrams) on Tuesday, 3/15. During the week of 3/14, we will be learning about the topic of

"optimization".

Tuesday, 3/8 - we reviewed a difficult problem that was on the back page of your quiz and started looking at problems in rates of change. Here are the problems from class, and your HW is #4 and 5 on the back.

Wednesday, 3/9 - we continued to analyze how functions change and how derivatives can help us talk about rates of change. Here are the problems from class, and your HW is #4, 5, 8 on the back.

Thursday, 3/10 - we're practicing the ideas of how functions behave. You'll have a quiz on these topics on this upcoming Tuesday, 3/15. Here are the practice problems from class. In that document is also a brief schedule of the upcoming weeks for you in math class (also, below). No HW tonight.

Friday, 3/11 - we're going to take a look at the quiz you took on Monday and try to understand our mistakes.

Monday, 3/14 - Happy PI DAY! Today we're starting to look at how we can use calculus to help us solve problems in optimization, like maximizing profit or minimizing volume.

Tuesday, 3/15 - you have a quiz on a function's behavior (increasing, decreasing, local max/min, global max/min, stationary points, horizontal point of inflection, sign diagrams).

Wednesday, 3/16 - we're continuing to study optimization by looking at optimization of quadratics. Here are the slides from class and here is the worksheet for HW, due Friday.

Thursday, 3/17 - we have Discipulus Led Conferences today, so we have a half day of school.

Friday, 3/18 - we're finishing our study of optimization.
