This picture is of my friend Rachel who was over at my house the time of this project. We were doing a home photoshoot and I decided that this photo would work perfectly. We took lights from my basement and a white sheet taped to the wall was our background. The spacing of the photo is good with Rachel being right in the center of the picture. With the lighting the photo turned out to has a nic range of value. Her hair was darker while the part of her face that was facing the light is a brighter shade.
With the photo being in sharp focus this means that everything is in focus. This gives the photo more detail and texture. The lights we set up created high key lighting which gave me good shadows. When I was editing the photo I looked through the different filters. I chose to go with a black and white filter in order to cancel out the yellow lighting. The shadow across her face creates more value in the picture going from light to dark. This photo is one of my favorite digital photos because it's simple.
