Time Capsule Dawings

For this project we had to create four different drawings. One is a zoomed in self-portrait, on is a hallway in my house, one is the charm on my necklace, and the last is of my hand in a weird pose. These are drawings created so we can look back at them at the end of the semester. The only material I used for this project was graphite and blended certain lines with my fingers to create shadows. I chose to do my lips and lower nose because that's my favorite part of my face. I did the dolphin charm for the drawing something we couldn't live without. This necklace was given to me as a gift and I never take it off no matter what. For the hallway I decided to draw the only strat hallway in my house. Then when doing my hand, I tensed my muscles and did my fingers all different positions and drew it. In this project I used a lot of line balance.

The main composition rule I used was soft focus. Many of my drawings are lightly drawn or have curves instead of sharp lines. The dolphin charm is a good example of soft focus. I had to erase certain parts of each drawings and revise them. On the hand drawing I had to redo the thumb multiple time because it was too small and I therefore made the rest of the fingers too small as well. On the dolphin I couldn't get the curve of the belly just the way I wanted it at first. Each drawing I added shadows where I felt they were needed.

All of these drawings are of part of me or something that I am around all the time. These drawings are of important things in my life or in my everyday routine. I would add more detail and color if I could revise my drawings.
