Lichtenstein Square

This painting is supposed to be a piece of one of Lichtensteins paintings. The pieces that we got to look off from were in black and white and also shruck to a smaller size. We used darker colors for the for the dark sections of the painting and a lighter color for the lighter sections. First I tried to copy the lines of the tiny photo into the bigger grid below it with pencil. When I was happy with the way the drawing looked then I filled it in. I colored this with watercolor crayons in order to get an even color. In this I tried to use a lot of emphasis with my choice of colors. I also had to use the space that I was given and place the shapes and lines in the correct area. A technique that I used a lot in this painting was leading lines. As I was drawing the outlines of my painting, over time I did change different shapes and certain angles to make it look more like the actual piece of artwork. If I were to do anything, I wish I had colored a bit harder on my lighter sections because when I put water on top it distilled the color more than I would've liked.
