Assemblage Sculpture

This project we had to make a sculpture of an endangered animal. I choose to do a sloth and gathered all my materials. The materials I used were newspaper, tape, hot glue, and paint chips. First we did the the newspaper body of or sculpture and held that together with tape. Once I had all the pieces such as the legs, head, and body, I taped them together and made sure they were strongly secured to each other. After that I gathered all the brown and tan paint chips I could find in order to cover my sculpture. Once I did that I cut them all into strips that I glued onto my newspaper. I covered the body, head, and legs in the paint chips creating "fur". My favorite part of this project was getting to glue the paint chip on our sculpture and seeing it come to life with color. Also getting to other people's assemblage sculptures was really interesting. My least favorite part of this project was the time that it took up. I was a lot of work to cut up strips and then glue them on in the right color order.
