Leading Lines Film

For the leading lines project we were supposed to take pictures of lines that drew the audience's attention to a certain point in the picture. My film didn't catch on the spool and therefore didn't advance. As a result I only had one picture with multiple different photos on top of one another. I had gone around the school and around town taking pictures of different leading lines that I saw. In the end the overlapping of the different pictures created a cool affect. While taking these photos I mainly paid attention to the lines and how they affected how people would be drawn to the photo.

The composition rules and techniques of each individual photo got lost when the photos were layer on top of one another. Many of them would've shown selective focus or sharp focus, high key lighting, and leading lines. The sharp focus or selective focus would've mainly been the leading lines being captured in the photo. I said there would've been high key lighting because the majority of the photo is dark meaning the film was exposed to light while taking the picture. The first enlarged print that I did turned purple, which means that I didn't leave the paper in the fix solution for long enough. Today I redid that enlarged print in order to get better craftsmanship and a more crisp print.

For some of these photos I walked around the school photographing leading lines I saw around the building. Another half I did while walking around Freeport after dark and taking pictures of the christmas lights up in the center. Although the effect of the multiple photos on one is very cool, I would've liked to see the separate photos and how they would've turned out with their individual strengths.
