design and space

These are drawings of negative space and one of a gray scale . I first drew most of these in pencil and shaded or made designs using different pressure. Then on the drawing with leaves I colored in the negative space with crayons and tried to incorporate the colors of the leaves and petal of the flower. I arranged my objects trying to create interesting negative space. The main principles and elements I used were line, shape, space, color and balance. Over the course of drawing these pieces I did add more designs and used more pressure to darken certain sections. In each drawing we had a subject to draw the negative space of. Then I did designs in one, left one one blank, and then had to color one in. And the gray scale I just did designs with certain levels of pressure to get darker to lighter. I just thought of random zentangles to fill in the space up and used a lot of different shapes and sizes. Many of the things we had to draw were from real inspiration and real subjects. If I were to change anything it would be my blending on the leaves drawing. I feel like i could've colored that better than I did.
