Monochromatic Color

For this monochromatic project I knew I had a piece of see-through red plastic. I also had a red rose from Valentine's Day. I decided to cover the lense of the camera with the plastic and put the rose in front of it. The background is part of the TV which turned pink because of the tinted plastic. When I first heard this project I remembered the plastic and knew that I wanted to use it somehow. Then I started looking for red objects to use as a subject behind the film. I thought the rose was a perfect idea. I wanted to incorporate different values into my picture instead of it being one tone. The light from the TV was a good additive in the the end because it added lighter tones of red to the photo.

This photo definently showcases the composition technique soft focus. You can see this because no part of the photo is clear or in focus. I would also consider this as rule of thirds because the rose takes up two thirds of the photo. I took multiple photos in order to get this one. At first I was holding the red plastic too close to the camera and it wasn't taking a photo. This continued on a little bit until I held it a bit farther out, but close enough to cover the photo.

This photo is supposed to symbolize love and relationship by having the rose and the red which is the color of a heart. If I were to change anything, I would want to add more of a range of red into the photo.
