For this concentration project wanted to continue exploring new mediums and changing my style of artwork. I decided to make a collage from different magazine pages and wallpaper scraps. Using the piece of light blue wallpaper I ripped it into different shapes and glued them randomly onto a piece of canvas. This first layer acted as my background and made the canvas more stable and easier to work with. After all the pieces were dry, I chose a page from the magazine that feature different cave paintings. I ripped the page into square-like piece and arranged them as close to a rectangle shape for the base of the house. For the roof I used a page showcasing a cathedral and tore it into pieces before arranging it into a triangle shape. In order to add more detail I tore out pieces that I made into windows. Using a sharpie I drew on the window panes and the door.

I wish I had time to go back and ad more detail to the background of this project. To me it feels blank and is probably still missing something. That being said I liked using this material and technique for creating new art. It was easier to manipulate this medium than it is to manipulate paint. Therefore I was able to get my finished product to look more like the vision I had for it.
