Concentration #17

A Quiet Pasture

7"x 5"

Acrylic on canvas

For this project I wanted to do something peaceful to combat the stressful times we are facing. I decide to paint one of my favorite animals, the Scottish Highland cow. I searched through different photos for references to the face, body, and scenery. The first part was sketch a rough outline of everything. I painted with my acrylics I had at my house, stating with the water and rocks in the background. I used different shades of colors throughout this piece to show shadows and depth in both the water and cows. In the end I added tiny yellow dots to represent flowers in the field. Based on the feedback given to me, I might go back to this piece and added outlines and more detail with pen or black acrylic.
