For the last couple weeks of school, I wanted to explore the meaning of home and the different structures that can be qualified as a house. Based off of my sketch ideas I decide to make a teepee. With the depth of a teepee I wanted to make it 3D. I shaped tinfoil into cone and used it as a base for the teepee. Then I wrapped tan sculpy around the tinfoil to act as the covering/ buffalo hid that is typically used in building the outside of native teepees. Using the brown sculpy I created a triangle to act as the door/opening of the teepee. In order to add detail and color I created tiny strings of red and blue sculpy. I placed the red strands along the top of the teepee and shorter blue strands along the bottom. After I had everything arranged the way I liked I put it in the toaster oven and cooked it.

After the scuply was hard I realized the shape wasn't exactly what I had invision for a teepee. I tried to shave the sides with a clay tool, but that ended up leaving marks around my sculpture. This piece is miniature and I wanted to keep my project small, but now I feel that if I had gone bigger in size the sculpture would have been more proportionate and accurate.
