Repetition Film

For the repetition project I went around the school and my house looking for grouping or different repetitions. My enlarged image is looking out into the peace garden from the windows near the library. I used the film camera I was using and then developed the film in the dark room with the chemicals. I had only a few photos show up on my roll of film so I chose this picture to enlarge because it had the most detail available. The element of design the I see the most in my photo is line. All of the windows have panels that are separated and those dividers create lines within the photo. This repetition also creates pattern and movement within the photo if you look down the wall of windows to the right.

One key composition rule that is showcased in my photo is framing. Framing is when the photo is taken looking through an object and in this photo that object happens to be the windows. There are also leading lines created by the windows outside which draw the audience's attention to the back of the picture. I didn't change much while doing the print except for testing different exposure time and aperture levels to see what was better and made the image more crisp.

Again not many of the pictures I had taken showed up on the roll of film, which disappoints me. If I were to do anything over again it would be to take new pictures and see if it turns out better than this roll.
