Historic Coil Pot

For this project we were tasked with selecting a ceramic piece from history. I selected this tall pot because the structure was simple, but the designs on it were detailed and intricate. My main focus was on creating a similar structure for the outline of my vase. I didn't know how tall the vase looked based on the picture so I went based off what felt right to me. The top got too narrow and a little too long compared to the picture. I wanted to try and recreate the sections that the design patterns are broken into. I drew two lines through the base of the vase. I then went to the top and tried to do do the archway details and circle details clearly seen in the photos. When choosing glazes I tried to get them similar to the colors of the pot I was replicating. I used PC-59, PC- 20, C- 10, and PC- 33.
