Abstract Project

This project is supposed to be something abstract. Abstract means that the photo doesn't resemble any actual item. This morning I poured grape juice and orange juice in my sink. I then decided to take a picture of the splashes of juice that were in the sink. The lighting above the sink was bad and there was a shadow of the camera in the sink. Therefore I cropped the photo to one of the corners where it was clearer. I decided to leave part of the sink in there because it added a greater range of value. You can also see the texture of the sink because the camera is so close and the scratches of previous years show. The juice is another form of texture with the light reflecting off of it.

This picture is an example of informal balance. The splash of the juice is concentrated in the top right corner leading to the bottom left. Then the corner of the sink is only seen in the bottom left corner of the picture. I put a black and white filter on my photo to combat the glare off of the sink. I wish I had more time to take this photo and come up with a better idea.
