For this project we were tasked with taking ten photos of different textures. Each of my photos are titled the same thing as the subject. I took these around the school and my house. Many of these are of basic things I found in my room and or outside. The last photo is in my art class when I had dipped a brush, covered in ink, into a glass of water. I used many different materials as my subject in my photos. I also ended up using two different cameras, my digital camera and my phone. In this project I tried to focus on line and shape especially seeing that the project was based around texture. I cropped most of the photos in order to focus on a certain piece of the photo that contained the most texture.

In this project I found a lot of repetition and informal balance in my photos. The main composition technique showcased is in formal balance with many of my photos being heavier on one side rather than balanced. The shadows and lines are what mainly unbalances the images. My project evolved based on the items available to photograph and what I camera I took pictures with. The more recent photos I took were of things around my house because I couldn't go outside in order to photograph. I also took those pictures with my phone because my mother was using the camera.

I chose items that had repetition and interesting composition because I felt that would give me a better texture. The items were also made of different materials giving each of them a different feel. I wish I had more time to photograph other subjects because I know I could find better textures.
