pure contour

The first paper is three views of an shoe and the second is three zoomed and cropped drawing. I used my shoe and drew the three different views in pencil then went back and made my lines bolder and less sketchy. After that I chose an area of one of the shoes that I thought had interesting positive and negative space with a view finder. I drew this in the first section and when I was done with that, I chose a section of the cropped drawing and drew it in the second section and did the same to the second for the third drawing. All of these drawings are done in pencil and I went back over them in order to make the lines sharper. Looking closely at my shoe I tried to make the lines as close to the actual shoe as possible. And the different shapes that are incorporated in the shoe I tried to get as close to the real size. In all of the drawings I used leading line and sharp focus to bring peoples attention to the positive space. I tried doing other spaces or putting the viewfinder at different spots to see what worked better. The shoe that I drew is the one that I wear a lot and is one of my favorite pairs because they are easy to get on.
