Recognition Characters
Sponge grows in encrusting sheets with numerous erect, rough, fingerlike projections. Projections are strongly conulose.

Yellow, yellowish-white.
Habitat & Depth
Mixed sandy and hard bottom habitats. To 30m.
Distribution at GRNMS
Common. Found adjacent to nearby ledges or rocky outcroppings. Found primarily on sandy bottoms surrounding hardbottom areas.

Behavior & Notes
This may be a new species that has not been described by science. The genus Raspailia normally has echinating acanthostyles, but one group is characterized by its lack and that is the subgenus Parasyringella. This species of Raspailia falls into this subgenus group of Parasyringella.
