Colony height: 4-12.5cm (2-5") Colony width: reaching 15cm (6"), variable in growth form

Recognition Characters

Grows in spherical to semi-spherical masses that are flattened at the base. Surface of tunic is rough to the touch, firm, embedded with sand and shell fragments. Zooid chambers irregularly distributed through colony. Zooids are large.
