Recognition Characters

Body is covered with soft knobby projections called tubercles. Gills are dendritic forming a large cluster on the posterior of the body. Two large prominent rhinophores are on the anterior region.

Color

Mantle is bluish grey with occasional white blotches.

Habitat & Depth

Sandy or soft sediment bottoms around reefs. To 40m depth.

Distribution at GRNMS

Occasional.

Geographic Range

Georgia, Florida. Rest of distribution uncertain

Behavior & Notes

May be seen laying egg masses near or on reef.
