Height: to 3cm (1.2")
Recognition Characters
Small groove or canal is at the upper end of the aperture. Whorls are fine. Tip of columella is ruffled.
Color
Color pattern variable. Reddish brown, light brown or tan. Inside of aperture (columella) is white.
Habitat & Depth
On rocky bottoms, oyster and turtle grass beds. Shells commonly inhabited by hermit crabs.
Distribution at GRNMS
Abundant. Found in sand, under rock and rubble.
