Slender and small, elongate with evenly convex sides and slightly pinched in spire. Shell is smooth and shiny. Columella is straight, flattened, or slightly concave, and margined with 2 narrow white ridges.

Occasional. More common on inshore sea whips. Can be found on Leptogorgia sp..
Geographic Range
North Carolina south to the West Indies. Gulf of Mexico
Behavior & Notes
S. acicularis lives and feed on sea whips and sea fans. Its color depends on the host color of the sea whip. S. acicularis also lays its egg masses on its host.
