Dorsal margin of rostrum slightly arched. Median carina on carapace with deep median groove, sometimes widened in anterior or posterior half.
Color
Light colored, whitish color
Habitat & Depth
Estuaries and inner oceanic littoral, predominately over sand, shell-sand or coral-mud bottoms. Shallow water to 330m and may be deeper.
Distribution at GRNMS
Geographic Range
Off Cape Hatteras to Florida Keys, through Caribbean sea to Brazil. Species absent from Gulf of Mexico and from north of Tortugas-Florida Bay to Bay of Campeche.
