Recognition Characters

Small gastropod. Body whorl has two or three white or yellow spiral bands. Spiral bands have beaded appearance. Aperture is narrow.

Color

Exterior is dark brown to black with white or yellowish-white beaded bands.

Habitat & Depth

Rocky substrates and shelly, rocky bottoms.

Distribution at GRNMS

Common. Can be found among rocks and under ledges.

Geographic Range

Georgia, Florida, and West Indies
